We read.
We play games.
We argue seriously and laugh while doing it.
What is Grumpy Jews?
Grumpy Jews is a loose, thoughtful, stubbornly humane community, made for us to simply be our grumpy selves
Two Jews, three opinions.
Grumpy Jews is a space to be among other Jews, to talk seriously with humor, play games, read books, and breathe again. We are not a space for sorting Jews by politics, observance, or ideological purity.
Grumpy doesn’t mean angry.
It means we’re done pretending.
We’re serious, skeptical, humane, and sarcastic. We have preferences. And we don’t judge other people for having preferences.
… Or at least we won’t really make you feel bad about liking that other team or hating sports ball altogether or a fandom or whatever.
It’s about having a place to be.
If you’ve been looking for somewhere you can simply show up as a Jew and do ordinary, enjoyable things—this might be it. What we do:
Read and talk - about books or anything else
Play DnD - Jews playing games, not Jewish games.
